Environmental void formers - Clayboard eco benefits

This page highlights the environmental benefits of Clayboard through the 4 stages of its life cycle.

1/ Manufacturing

Clayboard® is manufactured in the UK by Dufaylite which is an ISO 14001 certified company. The paper honeycomb core of Clayboard's environmental void formers is made from 100% recycled paper and the polypropylene facings have up to 70% recycled material content.

2/ Transport

Due to Clayboard® being much thinner than competitive products and having an established distribution network Dufaylite can maximise transport loads. Because Clayboard® is half the thickness of competitive products it means we can get twice the amount of material on a vehicle, this means there are less deliveries required which helps to cut C02 emissions, and makes it a great eco void former product.

3/ Stockists

An established number of stockists across the UK helps to ensure deliveries to site are local, timely and transport loads are maximised. Because Clayboard® is half the thickness of competitive products our stockists can hold twice the amount in stock and deliver twice the amount of product on a vehicle.

4/ Installation

Due to Clayboard® being up to half the thickness of competitive products the required muck away is greatly reduced, this can save thousands of pounds in removal costs and landfill tax.

The honeycomb core of Clayboard® bio-degrades to create a void leaving only 6mm thickness of material from the facings of clayboard, where as competitive products have high volumes of polystyrene which remain in the foundation structure.
